LLB 3 yrs Degree Course

 

Eligibilty Criteria & Curriculum

LL.B. (3 Year Degree Course - 6 Semester Programme)
 (From the Academic Year - 2010-2011)

 

  • Name of the Course: LL.B. 3 Year

  • Duration: 3 Yrs

  • Eligibility:
    As prescribed by Bar Council of India, Rules of Legal Education 2008, the applicant shall have passed the Bachelor’s Degree in any of the faculties of any recognized university or an examination recognized as equivalent there to and have obtained 45% of the total marks in case of general category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC & ST applicant. The maximum age for seeking admission into stream of 3 years bachelor degree course in law is limited to 30 years in general category and in case of SC, ST and other backward class applicant it is limited to 35 years.

  • Examination system:

    Each paper from Sem I to Sem VI shall be of 100 marks. In each paper out of 100 marks – 20 marks will be for Internal Examination and 80 marks for University Examination. This rule shall not be applicable for Practical Papers.

  • Standard of passing:

    A) In order to pass an examination, an examinee must obtain not less than 50% in each paper.
    B)  Examinees successful in the Final LL.B. Examination who secure not less than 60% of the total number of marks in the LL.B. First to Sixth Semester of LL.B.  Examinations taken together shall be placed in the First Division; and all other successful examinees in the Second Division.
    C)  Examinees successful in the Final LL.B. Examination who secure 75 % or more in aggregate shall be declared to have passed the LL.B. with Distinction.

  • ATKT rules:

    In order to get ATKT for Third Semester or Fifth Semester, an examinee must secure 50% marks in any 7 papers of two previous Semesters together.
    However, a candidate who has been admitted to the First Semester, Third Semester, Fifth Semester, shall be promoted automatically to the next Semester. Provided, the candidates will not be eligible for the admission in Fifth Semester, unless he passes in all the papers of the First and Second, Semester Examination respectively.

  • Award of class:

    50% & above & Less than 60%  ::  Second Class
    60% & above & Less than 75%  ::  First Class
    75% & above   ::  First Class with Distinction

  • Fee structure: Tuition fee will be charged as prescribed by the State Government & the University from time to time
