LLB 5 yrs Degree Course

 

B.A. LL.B. (5 Year Degree Course - 10 Semester Programme)
 (From the Academic Year - 2010-2011)

  • Name of the Course: B.A.LL.B. 5 Year Degree Course

  • Duration: 5 Yrs

  • Eligibility:
    As prescribed by Bar Council of India, Rules of Legal Education 2008, the applicant shall have passed 10+2 or an examination recognized as equivalent there to and have obtained 45% of the total marks in case of general category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC & ST applicant. The maximum age for seeking admission into stream of 5 years bachelor degree course in law is limited to 20 years in general category and in case of SC, ST and other backward class applicant it is limited to 22 years.

  • Examination system:

    In each theory paper of 100 Marks 20 marks shall be awarded for internal examination and 80 marks shall be awarded for annual examination. This rule will not be applicable for practical papers.

    1.  
        Standard of passing:

        In order to pass an examination, an examinee must obtain not less than 50% of the marks in each paper.

      1. ATKT rules:

        In order to get ATKT for Third Semester, Fifth Semester or Seventh Semester or Ninth Semester an Examinee must secure 50% marks in each 2/3rd of the total number of papers of previous semesters (i.e seven papers of previous semesters).
             However a candidate who has been admitted to the First Semester, Third Semester, Fifth Semester, Seventh Semester or Ninth Semester shall be promoted automatically to the next Semester. Provided the candidates will not be eligible for the admission in Fifth Semester, Seventh Semester or Ninth Semester unless he passes in all the papers of the First and Second, Third and Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Semester Examination respectively.

      2. Award of class:

        50% & above & Less than 60%  ::  Second Class
        60% & above & Less than 75%  ::  First Class
        75% & above   ::  First Class with Distinction

      3. Fee structure: Tuition fee will be charged as prescribed by the State Government & the University from time to time
